MATTHEW DUE ON THE SLIPWAY The Matthew will be hauled out of the water for its annual “bottom” inspection during the first 2 weeks of February 2010. This is earlier than usual but we have taken this decision to ensure that the vessel is shipshape ready for the new season in plenty of time and so that we will be prepared for a full season of harbour and local cruises by Easter. Last year some rot was found in planking below the waterline and the planks were duly replaced. This was a very thorough job and this year we’re not anticipating such extensive work. Our team of intrepid volunteers is gearing up to be sanding oiling and generally getting the ship looking really sparkling for this years action. Come and visit us at the Underfall Yard Slipway between Feb 1st and 12th and find out what sort of work you could get involved with if you join us as a volunteer.
